Ayako Situation Report

SITUATION REPORT!
1.
The old forums are gone, ladies and gentlemen. The data is gone, so don't expect us to get it back.

2.
These forums are a quick stopgap measure while I search for a longer lasting alternative.
They were meant to be the proper forums, but this host has its shortcomings (no sigs, for example).
I do not have time to go looking for another one until tomorrow, so I will do so then.

3.
In the meantime, we have to discuss a few things.
Those things being the following:
- Hentai section (Yes or No, Senpais only or not).
- Role of Senpais
- Whether or not I should start a donation campaign to rent a domain for us, or whether we should continue leeching on free forums.
Half of donations would go to the Ayako fansub group itself.

4.
I've decided to crack down on excessive abuse of newfags.
Yes, I know it is god damn hypocritical considering I was the one who started the abuse in the first place, but it angered the Ayako gods and goddesses, so I need to control it. It contributed heavily to the decision to shut down the last forum. While that can't happen now, the incident showed that not controlling it annoys the staff.

continuing on from the other topic, where we weren't supposed to talk about the forums...

forumer also has the ability to create hidden- and group-type subforums (the A-N Forum, for instance has an on-topic and an off-topic forum.. as well as two 'adult'-type forums for posting things that aren't PG-13 or Safe for work).

two problems:
1) the database is not exportable, as far as I know.
2) the URL isn't exactly memorable.

also.. a title for the forum at large: Ayako Fansub Fans ;)
(say it three times in a row, really fast. I dare you!)

as for your questions:
- Hentai section? (Yes. wouldn't be an ayako forum without one).
- Role of Senpais? (Not being a senpai, I don't feel comfortable answering that).
- Donation drive? (I don't see why not).

PS: so the newfag bashing was the reason for the closure of the old forum, then? ... or just one of many reasons?

hey i do really agree on the there is no ayako forum if there's no Hentai

While I thought the bashing was one of the reasons myself, what were the other reasons if you can say?

I checked out Foxia's forum suggestion (her mate's forum) quickly.

It's unsuitable as it is already in use.

I would actually just consider Senpai's people you ask questions to, or moderators.

I'm guessing most of them will just post comments in the news items on the real ayako site, so should be less of that here.
